The South Korea-Japan Agreement of December 2015 on the 'Comfort Women' refers to the agreement reached through the South Korea-Japan Foreign Ministers' Meeting on December 28, 2015. The agreement included subjects such as Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe's (安倍晋三) expression of apology and remorse in his capacity as a prime minister, the Japanese government's proposal to contribute one billion yen to the South Korean government's establishment of a foundation supporting the Japanese Military 'Comfort Women' victims, the confirmation of the final and irreversible resolution to the Japanese Military 'Comfort Women' issue, and so on. This agreement subsequently attracted a great deal of criticism for excluding the victims themselves from the agreement process, for allowing the Japanese government to avoid legal responsibilities, and for using the expression 'final and irreversible resolution', etc.
